My little one has started teething and she isn't happy :( :( :( :(

She has little rosy cheeks, dribbles everywhere and furiously chews her little fingers (and anything that she can get in her mouth).

Tonight she was really really upset. Shoving her hands in her mouth and getting more upset. She wouldn't even BF, which is our usual soother. I tried some Ashton's and Parson's powder and rubbed some bonjela on her gums (she HATED that). I held a teething toy for her to gum and let her chew my finger.

Have you got any tried and tested methods for helping to relieve teething pain?

Other ppl swear by the amber teething necklaces... Haven't tried one yet myself though.

On one occasion the only thing that settled Phoebe was Calpol. I don't like giving it to her much but I'd tried everything else!

anbesol?? or anvesol is good although the e numbers are a lot to be desired!! maybe a flannel which has been wrung out x

I swear by my amber teething necklace. I got it from Myriad Natural Toys online.

Me and OH both think its fab and we definitely know if its ever been taken off!

We also like New Era teething tabs (pink and white round tub) - they are about a £5 from Holland and Barratt. They are homeopathic (like Ashtons and Parsons) but much easier to administer (tiny tabs which baby sucks) rather than A & P powder which gets everywhere!

he chews like mad on my fingers and sucks his hand whe his gums hurt the most

Any ideas welcome :D

Flannel idea sounds good actually, tho even dry might work! I forgot one of the things Phoebs likes best is this:
Mam First Teething & Massaging Set

She loves the rabbit thing being rubbed on her gums. We got it free from Mother & baby, just had to pay P&P.

We have it in pink :)

Ah ha, I sw one of these yesterday when I was in mothercre getting a teething dummy, but I wasn't sure what it was or what you do with it. I may go back and get it now.

Valentine - thanks for the heads up about the necklace and tabs. I will have a look at these too!!

Thank you to everyone for your advice and tips!!!
