Too late for implant bleeding, early af??

So I'm due to test on the 3rd, but last night I had pink/light red blood last night on wiping totally disappointed and though af arrived early. This morning I removed the tampon and it was a thumbnail sized amount some pink some dark brown, I've now put on a pad and nothing! I've no idea what to think, I think it's too late for implantation. If I took a test would it give me a definitive answer even though still before my expected period or do I just have to sit it out?
