Tonsillitis..urgh

So I'm 5+2. I have recurrent tonsillitis and had been approved for a tonsillectomy when NTNP worked! Anyway the worst bout ever started on Saturday and I'm totally wiped with it and have awful pain/swollen glands/fever/earache the lot. Also have conjunctivitis! Have penicillin but 3rd day in and it's not showing any improvement. Doc reminds me today that your immunity is weak when pg so makes sense. To top it off I've just started back at work so having to already call in sick

Just wondering if anyone has any amazing remedies I've not heard about?! Drinking plenty and sending DH out for lemon and honey later. Needless to say the freezer is stocked up with lollies and the cupboard with crisps! xx
