my own home grown potatoes

We planted them in our allotmentApril and today we dug some out today and cooked them for tea. YUMMY!!!!!
Got loads more in too.

going to plant my carrots and swede at the weekend

my mums friend used to grow potatoes ect and used to give me some, they were alot better than the shops ones. and also it works out cheeper :)

we have shoved loads of stuff in. I think it will be very cost effective for us and our tribe once things get going.
Ive done a pumpkin patch too for the kids so they can go and get their own pumpkin at halloween

ooh I really want an allotment - home grown veg tastes so much nicer

I had my first bowl of cherries from our tree today :D

I think it's a fantastic idea and will save a bigger family SO much! We haven't done much this year but have a big overgrown patch at the back of the garden about 20 foot square which I want to turn into a growing area.

I'm going to have a bring-a-spade BBQ in August and get friends to help us excavate it.

Let us know how the carrots are Budge, they're supposed to have amazing taste when home grown :)

:cheer: :cheer: Yay! It tastes so much better when you grew it yourself!

I planted veg this year, the first time ever. We've got strawberries, parsnips, carrots, lettuce and rocket. I've also got one little courgette. I had loads of salads with my lettuce and rocket, tasted yummy!
We've also got an apple tree that is very nearly ready to eat :D

yeah we are looking forward to the carrots. The soil on our allotment is meant to be carrot growing soil so thats a good sign.

me and Seren planted carrots and cucumbersinour garden and the sodding rabbit ate them :( So we shall eat him:) (am obviously joking - he's too old and would be too tough)

We have done this before at our old house, was actually really good fun - worked our ass off all day = men put up a new fence, ladies painted the wall and we all put down the cuckies (sp?) and then we had a big bbq at night with alot of beers :D :D :D

This is my second lot of lettuce. I had 3 lovely rows all nearly ready to eat. I woke up one morning, looked out my window and they had all gone. I thought someone had dug them up and nicked them  Turned out to be slugs!

Oooh wow! I would love to do that!

If we manage to get a place with an outdoor area when we move I'm going to start off small with tomoatoes and stuff! :) x

Well my hubbie is obsessed with growing veg at the moment!

He has sectioned part of the garden off for it all - at the moment he is growing

Veg

New spuds
Beetroot
Tomotoes
Peas
Onions
Radish
Lettuce
Cucumber

Fruit

Cooking apples
Eating apples
Raspberries
Blackberries
Rubarb
Cherries
Melon

I think thats about it :rotfl:

He did try Strawberries but they didnt work out!!!

So with all this food going up in price, we are quite lucky we have all this to eat!!!
