the pill

I don't know how i feel about this to be honest. Yeah it's a good idea for the active ones, but it seems to be saying it's ok to be 13 and have sex! Also, do 13 year olds know to go and get the morning after pill??? I knew nothing about sex and contraception at that age! Not really. Just the basic info.

Im all for it for the simple reason that at 13 i was having sex and i wasnt being careful about it. Do kids know how to get the MAP at their age? Well to that i say if they dont and they having sex they they NEED to know about it and we as adults need to the ones teaching them.
While i dont want my daughter to be having sex at 13 i do want her to be able to have free and easy access to contraception if she is and that includes the MAP. Id much rather she was able to walk into a chemists and get the MAP than have to go through the trauma of an abortion should she have unprotected sex.

I think i agree with both.

I didnt know when i was younger either...and 13 sounds so young to be having sex.

But times have most definately changed now, and id rather for it to be available than not be.

They should run late night brook advisory clinics that do the same... so the kids can also get free, informed advice on how to take it and the risks of STDs... It should also be in a place that isn't obvious that its a brook advisory...so that kids can pretend that they are going in for something else...

At 13 I knew a lot about sex and contraception through medical reading and my mother being a nurse in an STD clinic at the time...but my friends at school didn't and I heard a whole host of rubbish.... ironically when I tried to correct them they told me I didn't know anything...one of them was pregnant and had gonorrhoea a few months later

I dunno at 13 most kids think they know everything and that adults are stupid so its that you have to overcome.
