Just thought it might be nice to post some of the good things we're going to be experiencing this Summer because our baby's will arrive :cheer:

I think it will be a great thing to not have to worry about rainy or cold weather, for those of us in the UK :cheer:

Not too close to xmas    and it will be nice for the year after to have a garden party for their 1st birthday :D

i had a summer baby jult 2003 and it was AWFUL!!! it was hot and toward the end of the pregnancy i was so hot and irritable - then i had the baby and i didn't know what to dress her in i was afraid she was too hot. she ended up wearing just a nappy all the time.
I had had spring and autumn babies before and it was easier cos you can wrap them up for going out and peel off it it got to warm.

But the plus side is the birthday thing. For her second birthday we had a pool party with paddling pools and water slides etc. It was lovely. :)

the worst thing was the heat, my feet swelled so much so i wore flipflops everywhere!!

best thing about havin a summer baby is the birthday, we r takin Jamie to Spain for his first bday, sooo excited!!

The bad thing will be being so big during the supposed hottest august ever!! I'm looking forward to the outdoor parties in the summers though for birthdays etc as I'm a February baby and ALWAYS had to have mine indoors, cinema, bowling, McDonalds or something else indoors.....my friend had a june birthday and always had bouncy castles, pool parties etc, I was so envious ever year!! I am looking forward to spring and the skirts/flip flop phase though but just not right in the heart of summer, being that big with so much additional weight. The house will be on permanant air controlled ice box temperature!!!! :rotfl:

Hey Girls

I keep thinking miserably about being huge and uncomfortable in the hot summer to come - my friend gave birth in the middle of last summer's scorcher and was miserable! So to try and count my blessings...

1) Good weather means can get outside and give lots of fresh air to the baby instead of being cooped inside in the cold, wet, miserable English weather :D

2) Fab summer garden birthday parties

3) My due date is my best friend's birthday which would be lovely if baby sticks to the plan...

4) The gorgeous summer babywear I'm seeing in all of the shops :cheer:

5) Getting some healthy vitamin D from the sunshine (carefully, of course!)

6) Fab stylish smock-style maternity wear which means we'll look fab right up until birth (and beyond, obviously...)

yeh you don't have to worry about the cold weather, and you can go to the park and relax..... and all those pretty summer clothes.. i'm so happy i'm having a summer baby

My son was born in June 7 years ago and it was a great time of year to have a baby. Yes....the end of pregnancy was little uncomfortable because of the heat! The thing i enjoyed was being able to go for a walk in the sun when i started to feel a little down. Nothing is as good as the sun to beat depression!! Also because he was in nappy most of the time i saved loads of money not having to buy him clothes  This baby due in July....although not planned that way i'm glad it's summer baby

Hi

Thanks for those girls i a m really upset to have a summer baby its gonna be way too hot to have baby out in the sun without shade, and i think the heat is too much for a newborn.
Hopefully things will change once i have my baby :)

I had Ewan in August, june and july were horrible i was sooooo hot, i couldn't sleep with a combination of being a beached whale and the heat, it was 26c in our room most nights even with a fan!
Ewan was soo grumpy with the heat! his room was 25c i couldnt get it any cooler.

But at least he will have nice summer birthdays, i'm a february girl and its alway wet and cold.

On the reverse side of being hot, sticky etc, the great thing about a summer baby is that im gonna be at home on maternity leave during the hottest part of summer instead of being cooped up in my greenhouse of an office (with no aircon  )

My LO duedate is on my grandparents wedding annaversay so it would be nice if that was so. If it is 10 days late it will be born on my bday but not sure if that is a good thing or not

I feel bad for children born in Winter as they always end up getting a fantastic Christmas and nothing for their birthdays as no-one has any money left to buy anything separate for them and they get joint presents. And no-one is interested in going to their parties as they are poor, and it's wet and dreary.

My birthday is in May and I liked having it in the middle (ish) of the year as it wasn't too cold, wasn't too hot, and I didn't know many other people with May birthdays so everyone would always come to my party!

The July/August babies are always the youngest in the class too at school - not sure if that's a good thing or not...

I'm really dreading being huge in a hot hot summer

Summer holidays - so the kids won't have to suffer through school on their birthdays :D

I never see my 1st born on his birthday as he goes to the south of france with my parents

but being pregnant in the summer i didnt like it, not looking forward to it all over again
x

i'm glad my baby's due in very early summer, i'm already feeling very hot and uncomfortable during recent warm sunny days. i feel sorry for those due in august! but it will be lovely in the next few years when our children can have garden parties.

Keeley was born in september and i hated being pregnant in the summer especially as last summer was really hot!

its much easier to get up at 4am when its already light outside and its not freezing, so night feeds wont be such a chore as theyd be in winter!

yes that is very true.... summer babies are the best and i'mone two... it was soooooo sunny last year on my bday... so my LO will have some beautiful sunny bdays :D

bring on the ba-bie :D

i got my maternity in june :D cant wait :D
