He has woken up and smelt the coffee i am pleased to say.

hey hunny, not got any advice i just wanted to wish you all the best in your pregnancy.

Hi Ellie, you should speak to your local CAB for advice. I doubt you would get any benefits before baby is here (unless you qualify for working tax credit). I am also going it alone, and have no idea about benefits either, but will look into it in the next few weeks.

That's the website for tax credits so that should help you. Good luck x

Hey good luck - dont know much either - but my friend is self employed and she owns her own business and she has got maternity pay. Go to your benefits office and they will tell you all you need to know :D

Hi there,

I am not really clued up on benefits, but I think you should check with your local CAB and see what you are entitled to. You should be entitiled to at least Maternity Allowance, but it's not very much to live on at all. xxx

thank you all for your advise. Will get in ouch with the CAB next week.

if you can prove that you have worked for 26 out of 66 weeks (or something like that) before lo is born you will get ma at 112 pounds a week I think. Emmylou is self employed ask her, although she is away on her holidays at the moment! I hope it all works out for you xxx
