whats really classed as a good temp surg to make you think u may ovulate ? im always around 36.4 / 36.5 , yesterday i was 36.4 . today 36.8

took an opk but left it too long before checking it i think and now there is a faint line but im presuming that like pg tests it apears after a while anyway

my fault i went back to bed :wall:

remember i have ovualted in at least 3 months so this charting stuff is all new to me ?

my old cycle was always dead on 29 days , ovualting on the 14th , but last 2 months have been longer like 33 and 37 so ive no idea really when i could ov , and im now on day 13 , so by old cycle i could well ovulate soon
help !

Hi!

The temp surge you're describing sounds good. But your temp has to stay up for 3 consecutive days or so for the ovulation to be confirmed (at least that's what FF does in the charts). AFter that it's supposed to stay high-ish until you get your period (or not! in which case it won't drop).

It could be just a random high temperature or it could mean you ovulated. See how it goes over the next few days. Are you charting online?

Also, your ov. test wouldn't show positive today as a temperature surge comes the day after the ovulation while OPKs will show positive 12-48 hours before ovulation (that is, if you did ov yesterday, two days ago). A faint line on the test line doesn't mean positive. LH hormone is always present in blood but it will peak a little before ov. The OPKs detect that peak so the test line must be darker or the same color as the control line to be considered positive

Hope that helped a bit. Good luck
