i want to become a teachers assistant but im unsure on how to get into it ? does anyone know? also do u know wot the pay etc is like?

hi hun you could start by doing volunteer work in school hun then you could do night school to become a qualified teaching assistant, some schools will employ untrained but more and more are asking for qualified TA'S the pay isnt all that good to be honest hun but the holidays are good lol i did 9 years before i had Hannah is i can help pm me

thats really the reason i want to do it coz the holidays, i want to be home with Braydon in them, and with chris intending to stay in the navy i need to be able to be there for him

I worked as a nursery nurse for a while and did a Diploma In Childcare And Education, it was a 2 year course. I think you can also do a 1 year NVQ2 course in Childcare And Education but I'm not sure. It would be worth checking out your local colleges and seeing what they have to offer. Hope this helps and good luck if you decide to do it!

i did the nvq 2 teaching assistant in a year and then did another year for nvq 3 then another 18 months for HLTA
