I got a letter of tax credits the other day saying they were looking back into our award from 2003- 2005. They said it shouldn't affect our award now and they are only looking into a small amount of awards because of an administration error. Hopefully they will owe us some money  cos they were only paying us something like £10 a month and we were only earning £15000. Doubt it though! Anyone else had this letter or had their past awards looked into?

My last letter from them said we don't apply fro tax credits cos we don't have any children. I had to ring them up apparently its a glitch and loads of peoples tax credits were stopped cos their kids got deleted.

Great.

sorry i shouldnt laugh but it just sounds funny

I heard on the news about that its possible lots of peeps will get a payback because of all the money peeps have had to pay back because of being mistakenly overpaid could have been illegal - i hope so because we have had our tax credits reduced alot to pay back when they paid too much so hopefully will get it back at some point

I've just rang them to chase it up and apparently cos of our overpayment last year we don't get anything anymore.

We had a letter from them at the end of July saying they owed us £24.00 from last year but 'This is less than the amount we can pay out, so you will not receive it.'!!!

On the same day my mum got a letter saying they had overpaid her by £1.25 and they would be claiming it back from her!!!

They are seriously useless arn't they! On our awards its keeps going on about this 24p that they have over paid us  Its been on every letter for years. I know some people that are both working full time and are getting more money of tax credits than we are with 3 kids also. We are on benefits at the minute and they are getting about £28,000! Plus they keep getting letters saying they are owed money and have recieved about £3000 in back payments over the years, we've never got a penny and I'm sure they do owe us some. They need to sort it out! :x

I've written a letter of complaint about them to the parliamentary ombudsman coz they are so crap. Its not on, makes me mad :x

Tax credits are seriously going to get one up the **** if they don't sort themselves out. After having nothing of them for a year, they decided, in July, to let us have £24 a month (big wow!!!!) They've still missed Alex off our claim, and have now stopped paying us again because the dopy sods seem to think both my OH and my Dad are my 'partner's  and they're taking my Dad's income into account instead of OHs

Ive got an over payment of.............................

£1.24. Im sh**ting myself. Where will I find this.

Could we have a whip round.

I got overpaid by over a grand last year, even after I called them and told them my correct income. They reduced my payments last year, but this year instead of reducing them they are just stopping them.

I thought it said you earned £150,000! I was going to ask what job you did as i fancied a change in carer! Hope it all gets sorted out now - lets hope they have messed up and they owe you money!

Yikes, sorry urchin, my post about the £1.24 wasnt meant to ridicule your situation in anyway, it looked kind of sarcy when I read it back.

Sorry

Post first, think later.

Haha no worries I didn't see it like that at all
