Talc?

Do any of you use talc on your babies?

I don't and don't plan to with it being carcogenic but just wondered if anyone else does? I wish I could as it would be nice but I'd be too scared although I'm sure you could be careful with it down the bottom end LOL

We occaisionally put a tiny bit in her armpits as she clamps them down and they are really difficult to dry but thats it. Maybe once a week or less and only the last couple of months.

I use it but very very rarely. Your not supposed to put it on the down below bits so if that is the only place you are thinking of using it then i would just not use it at all.

TBH Im not even thinking of using it LOL It was justa conversation I had with someone a few weeks back and I said I never use it because of it being carcogenic.

I'd only use it in creases if I was to... never on his little - I mean, big (LOL) boy bits

at Midna......yeah, blokes seem to love dusting themselves down! Can make it all seem a bit Ghostly though!

Debbie, I've never used talc on Mhairi, or baby lotion, and she has lovely skin. I've heard that if you want to use a powder on creases you should use plain cornflour. It works a treat and is nice and natural!

I avoid using anything on Luke really as he does have some dry skin. We use a bit of Oilatum in his bath or a squeeze of the Johnsons night-time bath stuff (yummy)

Snap! Mhairi is an Oilatum baby too! I got my GP to stick it on repeat prescription for her!

I've only recently started using a bit of Johnsons Baby Shampoo on her as her hair is getting thicker, and I love the smell of the chamomile one!

Have you heard of Cornsilk cosmetics? Might be a bit 80's! You used to get it in boots, but it wasn't kept with the normal make-up. The powder contained cornflour and used to be brill! Wonder if you can still get it!?

You can still get it from Superdrug I think.. my step-mum uses it because she has really sensitive skin

I use talc on Evie under her arms and under her chins because they are a nightmare to get dry. I always put it on my hands away from her and then gently rub it on her so that there is less talc dust flying around.

I use talc on Dafydd after every bath, so roughly 5 times a week.

i always use talc on Haydens bum-just to make sure its all dry...i think its more comfy for him and he doesnt get nappy
rash. i try to apply it direct and not let it fly around in the air.

Not at all! We use it all the time and it's never done Ella any harm, she has perfect skin

OK... word of advice to all mums on here... DO NOT buy talc for your LO...






















you will... and this a promise... at some point end up with a white bedroom/living room/bathroom/baby.... and I can assure you its a bloody pain to clean up

Yep.....and my mum used to use so much of the bloody stuff every morning on herself that when we redecorated the bathroom the talc build-up was about the only thing holding the bath up!

I kid you not!

We don't use it because I'd end up getting covered in it, she'd pee on me and then we'd be left with something resembling cottage cheese. So no... it's not for us.
