Has anyone taken their baby swimming at 8 weeks old ??

Josh LOVES his bath and is happiest with the water on his head, covering his ears (DH says its cause he gets some peace from me  ) and i am desperate to get him in the pool - i was never take until a lot older and hated water and i dont want Josh having the same worries.

The local pool is happy for you to take your LO after first Jabs (which are on Friday)
Ive got him his baby warming swim suit thing and an inflatable float chair

So, has anyone taken their little ones at only 2 months old ?? How long were you in there for and did they scream when you took them out to dry ?

I took my daughter swimming for the first time at 5 weeks old. She loved it. She didn't scream when taken out but we had a towel on the side just to keep her warm while walking to the changing room. I think we probably stayed in for about 20 minutes and we went midweek (OH was on a week's paternity leave at the time) at a really quiet time and had the baby pool to ourselves, which meant we were allowed to take photos (after signing form).

We didn't wait til she'd had her jabs, due to this current advice from NHS.

yeah i did! she loved the water but she did cry when out and the wet costume went all cold on her skin! i learned to take the costume off while still in the water, so i didnt have to drag it over her skin to take it off. x

yeah u learn to stand and shiver while drying baby and then having to dry with their soggy towels

aw great, well i think me and hubby will take him together one sunday morning, then i can dress while he dries Josh, and i can dress Josh while hubby gets dried and dressed :D
