Me and my wonderful darling have been TTC for over a year now, so i sucked up the courage to go talk to the Doctor. He sent me for a 21 day blood test to check if i'm ovulating, but i chart and am pretty sure i am! He wasn't interested in any of what i had to say though.
And he was useless to what will happen after the test are returned saying (as i' sure they will) that i am actually ovulating. Does anyone know what the next scary step in the world of doctors and fertility? I'm more nervous about test than finding out something is wrong. No one knows we are TTC and i have all these thoughts wizzing around my head!

i not sure what happens hun, but good luck

I think they will ask for your partner sample if you come back clear if they not all ready asked.

Hi Sugarbaby,

I am in the same position as you - I should find out my first CD21 results tomorrow. I dont chart, but had previously been using OPKs, but am really nervous that something is wrong!

My doctor told me that if I am ovulating the next step is to test my hubby, and if he's working okay, then it will be more tests for me, although she didn't go into any further details.

Good luck to you!

Sucks that men only get the simple tests and women have to go through invasive tests and scans and the list goes on.Women get the long straw in fertility checks.

Good luck though, I hope its something silly that they can sort out dead quick for you and you get that BFP

They usually check OH first before doing any tests on you, but I guess it depends where you are?

Weve had OH tested - all in expectable limits
A scan - no abnormalities obvious
A smear - no abnormal cells (this will only be done to get your gyno records up to date if its been a while since your last one)
21 day progesterone test - Im ovulating

My next steps are my first appt with fertility clinic on 12th June, which will be just a preliminary health check etc and then I have to wait for an appointment for an HSG which is where they put dye into your womb etc and then x-ray it. If any abnormalities are found the next stage is keyhole surgery to diagnose the problem, but if none are found then its a diagnosis of unexplained infertility and onto the IVF waiting list.

Thats just my experiences though, it will probably differ from practice to practice.

Theres an NHS guide to fertility testing in a sticky ^^^ up there somewhere which you should find helpful.

Good luck!
