I hope I'm panicking about nothing here but for the last few days I've noticed that Zara really sweats when she's feeding. It's enough to make my arm and her hair wet. I'm thinking that this has been happening for a while but I didn't notice because I was in Pakistan and it was boiling hot (45C!!).

Our house doesn't have much heating (it isn't on anyway) and she's only in a t-shirt and jeans.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm going to take her to the doctor tomorrow but I thought I'd get your opions too.

Its been pretty hot the last week even if the weather hasnt been too nice. I would just let her run around with a nappy and vest if you are in the house and not bother with her clothes. But you are right to take her to the docs if you arent sure.

Hope you had a lovely time in Pakistan

Thanks - it's nice to have some reassurance. I guess I wasn't thinking of it being warm because of the comparrison with Pakistan :wall:

Yes I had a great time thanks. Looking forward to going again

matthews a bit of a sweaty baby esp on the back of his neck from where he leans on us and if hes in the car seat to long he gets all hot and sweaty

Seren gets sweaty when feeding, as I am supporting the side of her head I get a wet arm and she has one side wet. Must be all the effort :D

Damo sweats too hun - I guessed it was normal! Does it alot at night. My house isn't that warm either. :)

I'm gonna sound really thick now but I didn't know babies could sweat!

Aimee sweats when she is feeding too! Just where she has been lying on me though!

Hi

Thanks for the replies everyone.

It's not been just the side where she lies on me, she's been getting beads of sweat on both sides of her nose and her hair is wet but only when she feeds.

I went to the doctors and they told me it was probably best for me to try cutting out all spices and garlic out of my diet. If it continues and she starts getting sleepy or going blue around the mouth I have to take her straight back as it could indicate a heart defect. Hmmm, why didn't they just check that anyway???

Still, she doesn't seem sleepy and never goes blue so I'm going to try the change of diet and see if that helps.
