I hope a very silly question but how do you know if your wee one has a stutter? My lo is nearly 20 months and babbles away to me heaps. Most of it makes no sense and he is using some words now to but sometimes he will hold a conversation with me and it is all stuttery. Do you think this is normal? Is this him just starting to talk? Thanks for your opinions ladies! Xx

I dunno if youd know this early
Lots of kids still just babble away at that age
My nephews 27 months and still mumbles to himself
He can repeat words back but doesn't try to form any sentences or anything x

Just keep an eye on it for now. It could just be that what he wants to say is whizzing about in his head faster than his mouth lets it out at the moment. I'd say if he's still stuttering once his sentences are longer and his speech is clearer then see a Doctor or your HV x

I definitely think his mind is working faster than his mouth thanks ladies

My Son is 3 and he will say a word until it sounds right for him - it's actually very cute to watch - it's him learning to converse xx
