hey everyone, so i could do with some advice. I have been prescrobed coleif for the little man however it says to put it in warm milk half an hour before a feed which is fine during the day however come night time really rather irritating. Just wondered what your ideas/advice was on making up formula before i go to bed...??

i really dunno what to do....
x

Formula only lasts for 2hours once made up, you can't even make it then put it in the fridge because the colief stops working if it's too cold. Don't really know a way round it, sorry, I used it for a while and it was a nightmare having to wait! Hope you find an answer x

How about putting it in 30 minutes into his feed? (providing he hasn't gulped it all down by then of course!) Not sure if his milk will still be warm by then though.. Worth a try maybe?

It has to be in the feed for 30 mins cos that's how long it takes to break down the lactose in the formula. I changed to aptamil comfort which is brilliant, it's for colic and only had 50% of the lactose and the milk protien is more broken down too, it really helped zach x

Thanks everyone! I can't decide what's up with him. He screams and screams and thus far the colief hasn't worked. He exhausts himself sleeps briefly and then starts again...

you can put colief in milk for the fridge. it takes 2 drops over 4 hours. takes longer cos the cold sends the enzymes to sleep. details are on the colief website. for night feeds we use ready to drink SMA and put the drops in before bed. the colief lasts longer cos you use 2 drops not 4 :cheer:
