Stat Maternity Pay

I've been signed off for the whole of my pregnancy due to suffering with HG, low blood pressure and a few other preg related issues.

I'm guessing this means that I will not be entitled to SMP as my average earnings have not been high enough. My SSP has now ran out too, as I had been off work ill a few weeks before falling preg and the absences have been added together as there was not 8 weeks in-between them.

I'm really starting to panic about how we'll cope. It's been hard enough with no proper pay for weeks. I just don't know how we'll manage with a baby too.

Has anyone been in the same situation? Were you entitled to anything?

Do your employers pay sick leave above ssp or is that it?

You may qualify for maternity allowance. Give maternity action a ring for advice. Good luck xx
