Stamping feet/dancing on spot?

Isaac today has been doing a lot of standing in the same spot stamping his feet, not upset or anything, he's been laughing, but its like he can't stop doing it, is this a learning how his body works thing or is it a sign of something being wrong with his foot/leg? He's just seriously overdone it today so wanted to ask and see who elses LO did/does it so I don't get worried

Nathan always does it.. Some times he's dancing. sometimes he's having a tantrum or just exited. Sometimes I haven't a clue why he does it.

ah yeah hayden used to do that-actually he still does it all the time!!
i read in a development book that toddlers learn balance and how to control there bodies by stamping and then eventually they start standing on just one leg- i remember Hayden went through a phase of standing on one leg
but lately hes constantly stamping around and marching!!

DS does this ALL the time - mostly when he's having a strop, but also when he's excited about something, and sometimes to dance too. It's really cute! He's also just learned to walk backwards so does that all the time now too.

I find that when DS has just learned how to do something he will do it non stop for a few days then move on to something else!
