Sonographer says I'm 13w and 6 days prego.. acc to last period I'm 12w and 5 days

Hi ladies!!
Just wana know this happen with you ladies? I know my exact last period day it was 16th of Dec, and according to that I'm 12w and 5 days pregnant, but today after my scan she said i''m 13w and 6 days pregnant!! I'm really shocked!! It means I was pregnant 1 week before my last period!! Is it possible? Does this happen with anyone else? Share your experience xx

Did you count from the first day of your last period or the last? It's calculated from the first day - from what you wrote it sounded like you counted from the last day - sorry if I've misread! xx

Your response jellybug.. yes I calculate it from my first day of period 16 Dec according to that I'm 12w 6 days pregnant.. but sonography said I'm 14 weeks pregnant today! Is'nt it WEIRDDD!! How is it possible? lol

They can be wrong I think their error is 5 days either way. Well that's what they told me when I asked. Just go from the date they have given you, but if you keep it in the back of your mind if you go over due a few days you will know why. I was always pushed back a week when I went, but I knew when I had conceived. Xx

Same here, I knew I ovulated later than the 'norm' therefore conceived later.. I was given a date at my first private scan at 10 weeks then at my first NHS scan it had changed by 4 days - it is really just an estimated date though, I imagine it's difficult to get accurate measurements! xx

My sonogram has put me 7 days ahead of what my last period says too ... I'm just going by their dates as I know early ovulation is a possibility. I wouldn't worry too much

They measure the thigh bone and use other measurements to date it. Mines out by a couple of weeks according to my due date going off my period but I've measured ahead because baby is growing faster. I wouldn't worry about a week or so difference it's never an exact science and baby will come when he or she is cooked and ready. Enjoy your pregnancy and don't get bogged down in micromanaging everything xxx congratulations x

Same thing happened to me Bala123! I was dated one full week more advanced.

I agree with the girls, just to clarify though - they might be out by a few days with their estimation based on measurements or baby just happens to be growing a bit faster (which I believe happened in my case as I know exactly the day we had sex lol!) But, if they're right with their estimation, it wouldn't mean you were pregnant 1 week before your period, but that you ovulated 1 week earlier. Yes, counting/dating a pregnancy starts from day1 of your last period indeed, but you actually conceive when you ovulate, which normally happens about 2 weeks after period's first day. That might be an average though, as some girls ovulate before or after that. So it could simply mean that you ovulated a bit earlier, about a week after your period's first day, instead of the usual 2 weeks, that's all Did you have sex shortly after your period had ended? Then, that's probably around when your bubba was conceived xx
