For those that haven't bought socket protector cover thingys yet, don't pay the ridiculous Mothercare prices!
I wandered into Poundland earlier and found packs of 12 for, funnily enough, £1!
They're not cheap and nasty ones either, OH tried his best to break one to prove a point and couldn't!
Poundland have some other good baby stuff at the mo too, so worth a look!

Poundland are fab. They do disposable changing mats so I've got some of them and disposable bibs :D, their scratch mits are 3 pairs for £1 too. Will look for the socket protectors when I'm next in there thanks hun xxxxxxxxx

Ive bought about 5 packs! Not sure how many sockets I think Ive got!
Went a bit silly I think!

Spares will come in handy in case you need to use extension leads for anything so good thinking xxxxxxxx

True!
Mother in law doesnt seem keen on baby proofing her house so some may make it up there!

FAB I was only thinking about that the other day :) x Thank you!

Ive managed to get a few things from poundshops and discount stores.
400 nappy bags for £1 was my best bargain yet, one of those foamy bath supports for £2.99, all johnsons baby toiletires for £1

Just thought I'd share this link with you all. It was something discussed in the girlie room. I don't 'baby proof' my house at all and never have done for either of my children.

I just saw this and was about to mention that it is far safer to not use these devices i watched a watchdog type programme on them and its scary . x

The ones I have from the pound shop are the full 3 pin ones that cover the whole socket.
I wouldn't buy the single pin ones.

Supposedly the one in the article is the standard 3 pin cover, just turned upside down with the single pin inserted. I too thought that having 3 pin ones would make them safe until OH pointed it out during a discussion.

I was gonna post that too. DH works in Health and safety (partly) and went nuts when he discovered I'd bought socket covers - and given he's so laid back about most things I figured he was obviously really serious about this. Xxx

Call me silly by all means but why have a 3 pin one and only use 1 pin?!!
Mine cover the entire socket hole with no way of little fingers getting in so im happy with that.

If you read the article properly it is a 3 pin one that is shown, the point is that little fingers find them a lot easier to remove than adults do, and if a toddler was to put it in upside down, then the earth part of the socket is pluged, making the other bits Live if they were to stick something in them.

Its not that an adult has put the cover in like that - its to illustrate that it can be done, which is what makes them dangerous. xxx
