Ok everyone sorry to vent but I am freaking out ... now on maternity leave and realising exactly how much I have still to do.. the house is a mess, the nursery is still a work in progress construction site, we have some builders in for 10 days putting in a d/stairs loo and utility area, we havent bought any nursery furniture or bedding yet, our pram is delayed, I have not even done my hospital bag or bought essentials for baby hos bag either!! If I went into labour now I would be up sh*t creek without a paddle!!!

.. I am seriously behind!!! And to top it all I cannot face going shopping in this heat with Bodette's bum on my bladder all day!!! I can only go 20 mins before needing to sit or go to the loo again!

AAAAGGGHHHH!!!

:shakehead:

We must be due around the same date and im no further ready either.
This is my number 2 and please believe me you will not need a lot of stuff, i wasnt out with my pram in the first week. A lot of the stuff I thought I needed and couldnt live without just wasnt touched.
I really need to get my hospital bag sorted though. :D
Im just trying to get from day to day.

Doh! Sounds like you got your headful of all sorts mi dear! Now relax and just chill for a mo, trust me if your baby were to be born today you would survive (and so would your LO), with out all these necessities! If anything why not just do some shopping online - go to the Mothercare site and order some of your hospital stuff through them and have it delivered to your house, instead of you having to run around for it. Also this will then give you some extra time to do some stuff around the house? Don't worry hun you'll be fine, hey we're due to move at the end of the month and I'm not all that far behind you, besides you're on maternity leave, enjoy it!!! I can't wait to finish on the 28th - I'm sick of having to get up and waddle into work.
 Here sending you a big hug, don't worry it will all be fine! :D

oh hon it's okay.... breath!!!! at least you know what you have to do... thats a start! if you can't face going out shop online... once your down stairs loo n utility room is done you'll feel much better.. have you got an idea of what colour you want the nursery to be? what bedding etc you want? have a look online... have you got a hospital bag? i bet if you go upstairs now you'll have lots of things already to start it off... start with your toiltry bag.. what you don't have write down and get onto tesco.com - same with the babies stuff... you don't need any fancy baby suits for the first few days. I got a few packs of sleep suits from mothercare - nice, plain, white... simple. You don't need baby wipes or anything like that for the hospital - cotton wool and nappies....

You'll be sorted on time.. i'm sure

Whats happened with your pram? has the shop delayed it? mine only came last week...

x

Thanks girls... I know I am making myself crazy worrying but I think once the nursery is at least painted and carpeted i can start to buy things and put them in so I know what is missing.. we have the cot and mattress and the car seat and a sheet I think somewhere.. just nothing else!!

The guy who we ordered our pram from told us 2 weeks.. its been 4 and still no word from him.. not too worried as if I end up with a c-section I doubt I will be going far for walks at first but would be nice for OH to go out with her.. will get a baby carrier [shit another thing to add to my list!!]

I think it is just beginning to dawn on me that soon I am going to be responsible for a little helpless being and I cannot even look after myself most days!!!!!!!!

I was sooooo organised at the beginning I had to stop myself. Now suddenly there's 8 weeks (possibly less) to go and I'm panicking! The cot is staying at my mums until we move which hopefully won't be long (still waiting for the bloody eviction notice so the council can rehouse us  ), and until then, we have a moses basket. I've luckily got all all the bedding - did it in one mega-shop at Babies R Us. And, like Hayley says, lots of plain white vests, sleepsuits, hats, socks and scratchmits. I want to buy LO some 'real' clothes', but I'm holding back to see how big he is! No point buying lots of first size, then having a 10 lber!..

I keep meaning to do my hospital bag too to get it out the way. But you'll surprise yourself with how much you actually already have Anna Marie. Lets face it, all you really need is nappies, wipes, clothes for LO, something for you to wear during labour, something for after, knickers and maternity pads. The rest are luxuries that can wait if you do go in early.

You'll be fine hun - stop panicking or you'll set us all off!!!
