I can't get over how many big tightening I'm getting this pregnancy. They don't hurt but they're not exactly comfortable. I don't remember feeling any with Blake, but I'm wondering if having a bigger baby this time round is making them stronger. Every time I feel one, a little part of me hopes that it's the start of labour. Of course, that's wrong of me. She needs to cook a little longer yet! Anyone else having BH almost constantly?

I've found i feel braxton hicks more every pregnancy.
Mine do hurt a bit this time but its my 5th pregnancy but on my others they felt stronger and i felt them earlier and more frequently than with my 1st.

I'm quite jealous. Never had them on my first or with this one. When I was in labour I was told I was contracting and couldnt feel a thing...I'm guessing my BH were the same....happening but not noticeable.

It may be because it's your second baby. I know that the post birth contractions are supposed to hurt a lot more on baby number 2 so it may be linked?

Have a chat to midwife if you're concerned. x

You're not alone! Every day to me is like one long BH contraction. Seriously, I stand up, I have one, I walk, I have one, I sit down, I have one. My midwife says I have a very active uterus - charming.

As the worry at the moment is that DD will be born too soon, I've been given magnesium pills and a special magnesium powder by the doctor which are supposed to help reduce BH. If they're bothering you, take a magnesium supplement, also make sure you stay hydrated as they can be brought on by dehydration too. Mine don't hurt either, but it's not like I can ignore them and it's damn hard to walk when im having one.

Yes! This is me!

I've got an appointment to see my consultant and my midwife on Tuesday so I'll see what they day. I'm tempted to get mw to check my cervix to be honest!

I've been having BH on and off quite strongly for the last few weeks. Mostly uncomfortable but have had a few really painful ones (which triggered a checking of hospital bag!).

Yes see if they'll check it for you. I had already started to efface 3 weeks ago :/ but now as long as dilation hasnt started (at least it hadn't at my appt on thursday) there's not much to do but relax as best I can. Try to do the same. DD is so low down I have constant pressure mhh. I guess it's all linked.
