has anyone used this before?

was advised due to the other 2 and myself being lactose intolerant to put rubie on sma wysoy to be on the safe side which i did do.

she now appears to have started having allergic reactions to the wysoy :wall: had her checked over by a doctor and a nurse this morning who agreed with me that, that is what it appears to be.

they have given me a prescription for sma lf to see how she goes with it, though i cant start her on it until this evening as the chemist has to order it in.

just wondering if anyone else had used it and how they found it? with the wysoy i knew the obvious things like theri poo would be slightly different in colour etc but with this i dont know anything about it.

also if this doesnt work apart from trying colief with normal formula does anyone have any suggestions as to what else there is to try - i seem to be slowly running out of options :?

I haven't but I think TracyM has for one or more of her litle ones, she is the best person to ask :)

cheers Sami,

just tried her on her first bottle of LF :? She drank 1oz and 10mins later projectile vomitted the whole lot back up :?

im guessing thats not normal :? thats how the other two both reacted to normal baby milk :? not sure what else there is left to try :?

Give her a chance to let it get into her body, if there is no change after 10 or so feed, then I don't think it's working. Have you tried Staydown? Comes on prescip too. It's a thickened reflux milk.

well i kept her on it last night and she was literally throwing it all straight back up and then screaming the place down coz she was still hungry managed to get through the night with just cooled boiled water have an appointment for her back at the doctors this morning so i will see what they say.

the staydown still includes the lactose doesnt it sami?

took her back to the doctors this morning who checked her over and wasnt sure what else to try so he sent her straight up to the hospital for an emergency appointment with the paediatrician.

they took all the normal ob's etc sent a sample of her wee and her poo away for testing and they have put her on Neocate milk, the first bottle she had she bought straight back up again but so far touch wood she has kept the last 2 down and seems much more content now :)

Just going to have to see how she goes this week she is back at the hospital next thursday to be reviewed by the paediatrician and if she starts bringing this milk up over the weekend i can just take her straight up to the childrens ward and they will see her without needing to be reffered by the gp. :)

Hope she keeps this milk down Bubble, can't be nice for either of you

Thanks Kina

Really hoping this is the one that she is going to be ok with  though if its not im sure i will be back on here to rant a bit more

Rant away! Can't pretend to know anything about the milks as I've been lucky that we've not had to go through it, but I'll still send you some hugs ;)

tbh i dont think that many people know much about it at all the nurse she saw yesterday and the gp she saw this morning and the nurse at the hospital all turned round and said that the chances are that i know more about it than what they do.

I think it was mainly more of a panic because she bought the wysoy up with both the other 2 that was the solution once they were on the wysoy they were fine, but after speaking to the paediatrician this afternoon the wysoy contains a very very tiny amount of lactose which means if rubie's intolerance is worse than either kurt or beth's she may well be picking up on that tiny amount which is making her body react the way that it is :(
i do feel much better now that i know its not in my head or im not over reacting :rotfl: think its the lack of sleep that was causing me to doubt myself i was starting to think i was some sort of over reacting panicking for no reason mums that the doctor made me out to be when kurt developed it around the same age all because he had never come across it beofre

it does seem that a lot of health proffesionals know very little about it which makes it even harder :(

aww bubble poor little rubie! i hope its all ok hun.

thanks fran thinking of you and haydn babe

kina, she was fine on friday saturday morning she woke up covered in a rash which within a few hours went down again but it keeps coming back and disappearing again, then at about 2am this morning she started projectile vomiting again :( she managed to keep 2ozs down about an hour ago and is asleep at the moment in my arms.
she is no longer happy and contented she is crying constantly when awake and wants to be in my arms constantly it cant be anybody else or she just screams :(
im absolutly exhausted and so is she but i can see it being another long night again tonight, i have the midwife coming tomorrow morning but i can see it being a trip back to the gp and then being sent back up to see the paediatrician at this rate, the rash and the projectile vomitting are 2 of the main signs of an allergy to the milk they are having at this age, looks like they are going to have to try her on something else at this rate :(

Oh no! That's such a shame, it looked like she might take to the milk from those couple of feeds she took sucessfully :(

Hope they manage to sort it out tomorrow for both your sakes, it must be horrible not knowing whether she's going to react to something or not :( A real gamble.

Good luck tomorrow, will be thinking of you

well they have now put her on cow & gate infasoy i have to see how she goes on it over night and she is back for review tomorrow.

wish me luck!

well she has spent the whole of last night and this morning projectile vomiting within 20mins of having a bottle :(
Have just taken her back to the gp to be reviewed and he is sending her back up to the hospital to be reviewed this afternoon. He now thinks there may be something more to the constant sickness than the milk as she has now reacted to so many :(
