And those sorts of things.

We have one, a Close baby one, works great on OH but having given birth and having my milk come in I just can't wear it comfortably with LO in. My boobs are just too big for him to be comfy over them and with my bladder problem and the frequent loo trips and changes of clothes I just can't manage to wear one round the house or out as I had hoped. He is now 10 weeks and 14lb plus so is a bit of a weight to cart round also.

I personally don't like these sorts of ones and prefer the more natural material ones like the Close or Mei Tai ones. Just not sure its worth spending more money on one of those if the Close one doesn't work. Maybe better to go over to something like that as he is a bit bigger now anyways.

I'd prefer LO to be in front of me, soon to be facing outward. Don't want a back carrier at all. Anyone got any suggestions? If not I have to give up on the idea of wearing one.

I've got a Babyhawk mei tai which i'm absolutely in love with and Sam loves also (well he can't help going to sleep in it and it's saved my sanity as is the only place he WILL sleep in the daytime!) is good as fits anyone and is totally adjustable.
Am sure it would accomodate your boobies and as he sits higher up on my chest am able to visit the loo with him in it! (TMI?)
Have fun shopping

I can't give a detailed response just now as LO needs to play but if you buy second hand if you don't like it you can sell on for the same price and all you will have lost is the postage. There's a uk yahoo! group and I'll post their name later as I can't remember it and also there's thebabywearer.com.

I love my calin bleu gauze wrap and my cord Connecta best out of all my cariers

get a wrap sling, they are great and will last you forever :D I have an Ellaroo and love it

I used a Babyhawk with Isaac and loved it, very easy to get on and off whilst out and about too :)
I personally hated the ones you dislike too, they dig in you and hurt :shakehead:
This time around I am getting a Kari-me or something very similar :)

Hmmm I think I am going to forget slings and wraps tbh. I tried again with the one we have and I just can't get on with it. I really don't like my boobs atm as so big and LO is a big boy and I just don't feel comfortable. Also I am having issues with self esteem atm and don't like that it pulls everything in and therefore shows off all my curvy bits more. I don't want any more attention drawn to my tummy, backside or boobs. Its just not made to even begin to look flattering on a curvier/lumpier figure. And yes, before you ask that does matter at this point in time for me. I am not vain or anything like it, but I'm sure many can relate to having had body issues after birth for whatever reason.

And my bladder problem just means loo trips are every 15-20 minutes in the day at home and as often as I can find a loo when out.

I just can't find myself being comfortable with a wrap or any such thing now.

you have to do whats comfortable for you hun.. i dont think everyone gets on with slings and that..xx

hun i keep trying but i too am not getting on with baby wearing , it makes me feel sick , think its cos i have zero stomach muscle and a knackered back!

You'd have thought it wouldn't be so bloody hard to wear one eh  I was so hoping to be able to wear one but ah well.

A Close baby carrier will be going cheap soon probably as its hardly used at all.

yup ! i got a baby bjorn which was good when he was lil and i could get it on myself , and i have a moby wrap ! but his soo heavy !!! and tbh im hot enough without him strapped to my front and he likes spreading out in his stroller lol

Hey  I can always send you one of mine to try if you like honey, as Lisa said they are not everyones cup of tea. At least you can try it this way and if you dont get on with it at least you tried

I have 2 Babyhawks. My baby was adamant I was trying to kill her by putting her in one when she was smaller. But for the last few months (probably from when she was about 6 months old,) she has loved it. Now she even gets it out for me to put on and carry her in! I was convinced I would never be able to carry her in one, but now they are a godsend. It just might not be the right time now for you to start trying. Give it a month or so and try again.

mines a babasling, you dont have to faff doing it up as its just 2 clips and it works in 7 positions, i've only tried 3 so far though.

because its not tied around you i dont feel squished, in fact i like wearing it as she covers my belly when in it.

i also have one of the forward facing carriers but she doesnt like it unless shes ready to sleep, i think she can smell milk but not get at it

I've got a babasling. I find that the "koala cuddle" position is brilliant - I've got a big boob problem too, and threaten to suffocate sprog if he's in traditional "sling" position.

Galen will be happy in his pram hun, I'm sorry you're feeling so down

As a former biffa baby mum, I never got on with slings. I understand that your body adjusts to carrying the weight and people carry toddlers etc etc but a baby who's packing the pounds on fast doesn't always give you body time to adjust and by 4 months, 20+lb Stanley was too heavy for me to carry. And too long! I'm a short waisted littlie, and his head was in my face from the word go, making it difficult to see :)

Sometimes things aren't as easy as we feel they should be, I hope you're giving yourself a break xxxxxxx

I've got a lottiesbotties one and it's fab, carried harrison around all day on saturday and he loved it. Definately recommend them :cheer:

I have wraps, mai teis, pouch slings etc and find that each one has its pros and cons and suit different occasions. But you have to do what feels right for you, and if using a sling isn't feeling right there is no reason to carry on

He is happy in his pram but loves to be up high looking at everything. Its how he likes to be held most of the time also and has been since about 4 weeks. Over the shoulder or facing out up on the chest. He's not happy being cuddled in or any such thing, only when feeding. He holds his head so well for ages now and turns and follows everything and soaks it all up. I'd love to be able to carry him so he can see more.

I think I feel badly more for him than for me. I wanted to be able to carry him somehow but just can't find a comfy practical way as yet. May have to look at something like a baby bjorn over a material wrap type. Still think my boobs will be an issue in one like that also :wall: Plus he's not yet 3 months and is well over 15lb. Solid little chap.

Mind you saying that chances are he'll be crawling soon enough  OH was crawling at 4 months and walking at 7 months  Galen can already motor with his legs when on his tummy and is getting stronger and more co-ordinated with his arms and lifting his head up. He sort of pokes his bum up in the air and pushes along with his knees and feet. He actually moves himself along that way  Once he gets stronger up top and gets his co-ordination he'll be off. He does really well pulling himself forward now when holding on to my fingers and each day seems to be faster and better at it. He wants to be mobile and active for sure :D
