I've had a few friends sugggest I get a sleeping bag for my 4 week old to help them sleep better. What are people's experiences of sleeping bags? Are they suitable for newborns? Do they help them sleep better?

How much does your LO weigh? Think they have a 10lb criteria but I could be wrong. I personally wouldn't use one this young just because if they get chilly it's easier to add layers of sheets/blankets but you can't really do this with a bag. They're great for when they're a few months old though. They're good if They have a habit of kicking blankets off! If you do get a NB one you'd obviously need to size it on them to check their head can't slip through neck hole x

I bought lots of sleeping bags and haven't used them yet! my lo is 9 weeks and blankets have been fine so far, i just tuck them tightly down the sides of the mattress. i do plan on using them once he starts moving around more.

x

He's 10.14lb. He's been using blankets so far and has been fine, I tuck them in too. I'll stick with blankets for now and look at getting him a bag when he's a little bigger

I put my baby in sleeping bags from around 3 weeks. I got a newborn slumbersac at first and then I used the gro bag branded ones with the poppers under the arms :).
She liked sleeping with her arms right out both sides so after a few weeks she was waking herself up hitting the side of the moses basket and then in the cot I didn't want her to have blankets as she has always been such a mover so I was wrried she would get under them by moving herself up, rotating and then coming back down(she somehow used to do that) so used sleeping bags :)

grobag do newborn ones that can also double up as a swaddle blanket. We never did that as Sophie prefered arms out but the sleeping bag was great as she just kicked blankets off xx

We ended up getting a peanut suit as my lb was constantly rubbing his face waking himself up, this kept his hands in like a swaddle x

We're the same, we use the gro bag without the arms and it's perfect! Safer than blankets too x

Most are safe from 8 pounds 8 ounces. Pretty sure grobags are the reason my daughter has slept through since 8 weeks x

Little man turned 7 weeks yesterday. I'd like to get ab Grobag for him. What tog would people suggest?
