I thought I'd ask you all what you think of Toby's sleep patterns.

Am I doing the right thing by trying to survive, or am I making things worse for myself? Love to know what your experience makes you think. I'll try anything.

My biggest problem is that we have three boys in a two bedroom house, so Toby has to share our bedroom. Until the council sees fit to offer us a bigger house :x

Toby goes down at 6-7pm by himslef in his cot and sleeps til about 10.30-11pm, which is great cos it means we have an evening without kids.

But from that feed til morning it's anyones guess! He wakes up and fusses and won't go back off til he's had a few slurps of milk. We've tried ignoring him, we've tried going back every few minutes but that doesn't work for more than a couple of nights, we've tried the lot. I am up with him anywhere from two to ten times!

Now I've given up and removed my bedside table so his cot can be butted up to my bed with the drop side down. Now I can lean over sort him out and pass out again!

TBH hun and you might not want to hear this, Oran was like this and could wake anythig from 1 to 100 times a night (we had 1 bed apt) and as soon as we moved in to the house and CC him at 14 months, he slept through (and I had also tried EVERYTHING previously to get him to sleep through)!! SO i would say you are doing the right thing for now, its what I did in order to survive and get some sleep lol

LOL! I think your replies are funny! I'm just glad that when I wake for the ninth time tonight I won't be the only one in the world!

It's weird, cos Toby is the life and soul of the party, and from what I've seen of Midna's Seed, she'd just the same. I wonder if it is that sociable, highly amusing babies just can't bear to miss anything. Toby is so much part of the family I think he senses us going to bed and decides he wants get us up and party!

normal babies or lucky parents have babies who sleep...

BIG hugs firstly, the council are disgusting when these situations are left, they ave no idea the stress it causes    We're in a 1bed flat so I'm currently doing the same as you, cot side off pushed up to bed so I don't have to get up and re-settle him, can just lay an arm over him  I wish I could suggest something that would help, it must be so hard also with 2 other boys wanting Mummy rested and happy

Have you spoke to your HV about the situation? They can help, write a letter stating how its effecting you not being moved home yet  Is it a choice based letting where you are? Do you have priority extra? Only you should, and they should have moved you after 6months of being on that..sorry if none of that is relevant, I would just keep on at the council and also write to your local MP, their involvement alone can help.

Also see your GP about the effects of sleep deprivation, a letter from him too could help add weight to your obvious need to move house. Anything you can throw at the council to help because they really take the p!ss sometimes! Very very best wishes
