I've been lucky enough to come across a lovely and very understanding midwife but sadly they are not all so... make your wishes known and take control

I am not the same as your next woman
My story, my present, my past
And these birth wishes, I can tell you why
When you've time, you just need to ask
Why is it that I have this wish
To be present when baby arrives?
Why do I care how she's born
And we can bond at the start of our lives?
How can you know what has happened
By the ticks contained in my notes?
How can you see what has happened to me
In the short time the conveyer belt promotes?
Can you keep my space safe?
Can the lights be down low?
Can you keep out the strangers?
Can you quiet and slow?
I know we haven't me up yet,
But I really need to know
You understand my wishes
So I can relax and let go.
