hi, im selling my car locally. its a BMW 520i black, leather interior with cd player (which has a usb port) silver trim, electric windows and seats.

its got mot and tax.

its downfalls; atm its got a flat battery, as i think it needs replacing, and the central locking has gone in the back doors, so you have to pull them up and down.

ive had a call from a man, who is ringing back in an hour, as language barrier was a problem, so hes getting his friend to translate.

how much should i ask for it?

i want it gone quick, but i could do with the money.

HELP.

thanks

its 1989, so fairly old. it drives well, when the battery has charged up lol.

OK - have you had a quick look on ebay to see if there is anything of a similar age on there and see the price?

I'm really not sure with a car that age to be honest, I wouldn't want to say something too low!

ill just have a look.

hhmm there going fairly cheap on there. there is one for £300

thought they were worth more than that tbh.

i suppose ppl dont want big cars, even if they are beamers/

It's true I'm afraid, the smaller more economical cars get better money.

I'd ask £450 something like that and let him haggle you down.
At the end of the day, it's whether you feel £300 odd quid would really help you out - plus not having to tax and MOT it.

Then if I were you, if he baulks at £400 or so, tell him to make you an offer and if it's around the £300 mark sell it.

My OH sold one not so long back and its worth about £6/700 but it depends what you want to get for it really.

Also depends on the mileage.

thanks girls. i think ill just take what i can get for it.

as i dont want to be spending out on running a car which im not even using.

i told the person £450 and she said they would think about it. i think thats all they rang for, didnt ask anything about the car.

My OH says dont take anything less than £400 for it cause you can get one for £300 without tax and mot and you have that.

Obviously its your choice though.
