I have just had Sam at the doctors and he has Bronchiolitis(sp??)

I have to take him back in the morning for the GP to check him over again and if he is no better he said he will admit him to hospital :( got to call out of hours if he gets worse overnight.

Although at the minute he seems quite chirpy fingers crossed he stays this way.

Aww, no. That can't be nice. Hope he gets better to avoid the hospital.

Oh poor little boy! I bet you're worried sick though- I hope you have a good night with him and that he manages to rest and get no worse

Aww no!! Poor Sam! And you

My Nan said today my Auntie cut every one of her teeth with Bronchitis which is very similar so it might be that. lets hope he gets better soon and doesnt have to go into hozzy!! xxxxxx

I wonder if it is linked to his Teething??

I've just Googled it and I can see why the doc wants us back there in the morning, babies can develop a faster hearbeat than normal when they have it and when he checked earlier Sam's was faster :?

Also, earlier he was sick a little and there was blood in it but i'm not sure if the blood was from his gums or if it was actually in his vomit :( he's fast asleep now he fell asleep on my lap earlier.

I'm worried sick though :(

Aww poor Sam

Hopefully he will have a good night and there won't be any need for him to go to hospital

Dan had it hun and unfortunately did end up in Hopsital for a week. But he had severe Bronchiolitis. He was only 2 weeks old and was 4 weeks prem, so was very small and fragile.
Its not linked to teething, its respiratory, RSV respiratory syncytial virus.
Keep an eye out for not eating and apnoea (stopping breathing for very brief periods of time) at which piont I would seek medical advice. If you are worried at all call NHS helpline, they are really helpful and will advise you on what to do.
Hope Sam gets better soon hun

Thankyou  he's really not feeding a lot the doctor said he isn't dehydrated though he's managed a couple of bottles today but is struggling with them.

I would keep an eye on that hun. If he is having some bottle thats a good sign, even if he's not having as much as normal. Dan started off as a cold and quickly progressed, within a day he wasn't eating anything at all. So if he's having some thats good

edit: keep a watch on his fontanelle (soft spot on his head) it may sink down considerably - a sign that your baby is dehydrated

He's nowhere near taking as much as he would usually from his bottle and when he tries it is a struggle for him.

He started off Tuesday evening with it and he has quickly got worse.

Sam had a fairly good night considering i hardly slpet though because I was worried about his breathing.

We are back at doctors in an hour so i'll update when I am home later

We have just got back from the doctors and he was quite pleased that it will get no worse. He seemed to think yesterday was the peak of it and he should just improve from now on.

Sam is pretty lively today considering so  i'm hoping he does begin to improve more.
