How do these work? Please explain someone. Do you just wet them and then wash as with nappies? how do you store them if you are carrying them around etc.... I just can't imagine them. I think they are a great idea but want to know the ins and outs !! Thanks in advance.

I use them. In the house I have stored them in a plastic container then when I want to use one I usually just wet it under a warm tap. If Seren is particularly dirty I use loo roll to get rid of the mess and will sometimes use a little baby soap. When I'm out I have a little spray pump of wipe solution, and I carry the wipes in a little plastic container. When I have finished with them I put them in a wetbag with the nappy and will wash them with the nappies.

I use them too :D They are fantastic and come in really handy around meal times aswell :D

If Ella has a little nappy rash then I make up a solution of camomile tea, t-tree oil and lavender oil, poor it into a plastic pampers wipes container and put a load of reusables wipes in there. That will last a couple days, the solution will clear it up no problems. If I am out and about I just wet under a tap or use a bit of water (I normally carry at least a litre of water with me as I am always so thirsty!). I do have some Huggies ones that I will take with me too incase there is an emergency nappy change, but the chemical smell of them really turns my stomach now :puke:

Can really recommend having a stash of them :)

i have never heard of them and ella is 22 months

ot but my best friends little girls name is ella grace

i wish id known ella would be so popular

It's definately becoming more popular :D

I guess that I am more familiar with them as I use reusable nappies, so they go hand in hand really :D

I will use them..Beanie where do you get the wipe solution spray from or do you make it? and KIna how much canomile, tea tree etc do you use for your solution?

cas xx

I normally steep one organic camomile teabag in a pint of water for about 10-15 mins, then add 4 drops of t-tree and about 6 of lavender :)

You can decant some solution into a mini spray bottle to take out and about with you :)

I've never heard of them either - I go through sooo many wipes with Lydia, maybe reusable ones are something I should look into!

they are really easy to use as they are thicker (found wet wipes too thin), cheaper and you get some funky patterns (seren has leopard print, pink camo etc)

Cassi, this is the solution I use though when it runs out I'm copying Kina

wipe solution

and these are the wipes I use

Ella's got about 40 wipes in total and I've run out today

We've got a great selection from Happy Clappy aswell, shame they're shutting down

Thanks guys - beanie the solution (and that site) looks gorgeous. I just couldn't work out what you were supposed to do - seems a bit obvious now! Anyway thanks and glad I helped out some others too!

Just to add that the above site Beanie mentioned is great - the products look gorgeous. I will be using the wipes as that solution looks yummy. Is it quite economical in the long run?

Definately economical if you make your own solution or just use water.

Say you buy 40 wipes at an average cost of 30p each - £12. What is the cost of a packet of huggies/pampers? £2 at least aren't they? I know that I used to get through a packet of wipes in around 5 days! So I'd spend that in a month, whereas the reusables just go on and on and on. Definately worth buying and you know exactly what you're using on your babies skin. I never really used to think about things like that and used normal wipes and nappies. I hate putting Ella in disposables at night now, the absorbent panel feels so crunchy, think of all the chemicals in there next to her bum all night, yuck! And the same with wipes and all the ingredients listed on them. I'm glad that I made the change now, best thing I did for Ella's bootie and my pocket!
