can i just ask what 'restless legs' is. I've seen it on here a few times described as a symtom due to blood supply etc.
can someone describe what it feels like. I've had the oddest pains in my legs the last few days not quite cramp like, not quite pins and needles...

thanks

I get restless legs a lot, even before Pg. Not sure if it's the same as you mean but mine tends to occur in the evenings.

I can be sat on the couch with my feet on the floor or I can be sat on the couch with my legs on a puff but they just refuse to sit still. It's hard to explain. I move one leg, then sit still for a minute then the other leg moves or they both move. I feel like I have no control over them and I just can't help it. Starts to get annoying after half an hour.
It's not painful and doens't hurt just like a dull ache.

The only way I can get around to it is to go to bed. When I lie down in bed they seem to die down and stop.

My dad gets restless legs a lot too especially when he's had a night on the beer.

My mum kicks him into the other room because he rubs them up and down all night

I get it alot now and before i was pregnant.
I sit at my desk at work with my feet on the floor and my legs bob up and down quite fast like they are having there own little earthquake. not a very good way to describe it but the only way i can. Also if iam not doing that i am moving my feet, even when i am asleep i have been told.

i get it mainly at night time, find that a warm bath before bed helps to get the circulation going....my dad gets it too, we call it 'legs alive' lol

cheers for the that. Definitely not what i have then, i have more of an ache around the tops of my legs and they do sit still.....

 Is it a symptom? Never heard that before.

Don't think it's a symptom, mosty people have them before Pg.

I've read on another site that aches/cramps in your legs is common in pg due to blood flow etc and on another about restless legs and I was curious as to whether it was the same thing. It doesnt appear to be,

restless legs is when you cant keep your legs still for me its like ants running up and down my legs ive got to keep them moving to stop that feeling. its mixed with like a dull ache all over. one of the consultants i work with says (ha ha) its common in alcoholics! they think it might be linked to not eating enough salt and drinking caffine. he reckons its in the imagination  mine got much worse when i was pregnant couldnt keep still for two minutes.

i also get it , trouble is it also makes me uncontrolably jolt my legs and its can keep me up at night :(
