Today I will sit a while and spare a thought for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, for those who have been left behind and for those who continue to serve. Lest we forget.

Just finished night shift so I shall be sleeping but have had a few quiet thoughts to myself this morning In remebrance.

My brother is a soldier, and we both know people who have died in action.... He is due to go to Afghanistan in march, as a bomb disposal expert..... I'm so proud of him and all the men and women who serve or have served to keep us safe!

My fellas done 2 tours of Afghanistan and I pray he never goes back. Hoping your brother and his colleagues have a good tour x

This is the first year I've not watched the whole programme from the cenotaph, 2 hyper little ones stopped me! I did the silence the best I could, but was constantly being questioned about how many poppies the queen had and why big Ben was so loud  will take a few moments out the day when it's a bit quieter tho! I always feel really overwhelmed today, proper emotional! I dunno if that's due in part to being from a forces family, or if I'd be the same anyway!

Thanx princess, he flies out to Jordan on the 22nd to do his acclimatisation training!!!
I always cry today, and it's usually hearing the last post that finishes me off, such a lovely peace of music but also a very sad one!

I've had the honour of being part of the Royal Navy guard at the cenotaph and it has to be the most amazing experience of my whole career. I also took part in the Albert Hall service the day before.
Hubby and I both serve in the RN and it is humbling to see the support from members of the public. Such an amazing thing this country does for our fallen x

^^ well you do a fantastic job. I wish I'd joined up when I was a teenager but I'm from Guernsey and they really don't promote military careers over there so I never considered it, far too old now  x

I went to the local remembrance parade today, my OH's brother is in the TA. He's been to Afghanistan. And a friend of mine is in the Army too. She's like a Barbie doll, not what you expect a female solider to be like.xxx

Well as some of you know, my husband is in the forces. My family are marines, rn and raf and rfa. :) it's a huge part of all our lives. So remembrance day is my chance to pay my respects and to say thank you. Today is also our 4yrvwedding anniversary. It's obviously the most important date in my life and especially as our baba is due today also!

X
