Redundancy and company Insolvency

Guest
Does anyone know if anything can be done to make sure your money is claimed back after being made redundant (with no notice and losing 3+ weeks wages) other than waiting to hear from 'The insolvency Service' and praying that it doesn't take too many weeks?

When i juat had Adele my OH started a job and was working for 2 weeks and they went bust :( sorry to say this hun but he didnt get a penny maybe because it was only 2 weeks wages i dunno.

Maybe try ringing CAB ask them whats the best action to take it will all depend how long your OH has been working for ect

once again babes i know we spoke on msn but i cant stress enough how sorry i am your going through this at this time of year

take care babes and willspeak soon on msn

hugs to you mark and damien             xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Cheers hunnie
OH went and signed on today (god how depressing!) and will take 2 weeks for a decision, then 2 weeks to get any money (apparently, I have no idea). They told us to apply for a crisis loan to cover our bills, how flipping miserable. I'm so angry with his boss for letting it get this far, OH worked 3 weeks for nothing! He could of been out looking for a job sooner! Just annoyed because Damien is 1 soon and god knows how we're gonna throw him a big party now

be carefull hun with a crisis loan if its the same as hear you only get enough for living expences, we applied for one 3 weeks ago (you have to ring a number here and they tell u their and then if you can get one and how much and then you need to go pick up a giro thing and go cash it ) we only got £45 on the monday to do us till the thursday because they can access when your child benefit and tax credits are due

it was crap and we cant even get another one untill we pay off that one
it sucks grrrrrr

Hope it gets sorted out quicker for yous than it has with us were still waiting to hear about some sort of benefits and we applied on the 20th of october

on the good hand though OH has been offerd a stressless job and starts on monday 4pm till midnight and fortnightly pay so its a bit of good news for us just hope your good news comes really soon hun,

Im waiting on teh council ringing me back to tell me what i do about teh outstanding rent arrears and what will happen because we have claimed for benefits and cos OH starts work on monday if i will need to pay it all but my SIL said because we have claimed so long ago they should just pay it and we start fresh i really hope so

good luck babes sorry for teh ramble on your post

p.s as for damiens big party i personally would give it a miss a few home made cakes and close family round for a cuppa and he will be made up dont forget he wont remember it when hes older

ive never given Adele a party for the simple reason we just couldnt afford one but we always have a irthday cake and a few family round for a cuppa and she has a ball honeslty hun he would rather his mummy and daddy be happy than stressed out because they cant afford a big party

dont worry about it hes not going to hold it against you (((((((( HUGS ))))

Crisis Loan here works a bit dfferent I think, but we're not getting one now, don't need more debt.
We weren't gonna have a massive party or anything for his birthday, was just gonna get him a nice cake and some balloons etc. He may not remember it, but a 1st birthday is a milestone and one I really wanted to enjoy too. I know what you're saying though. Not being able to buy anything was the bit I was most upset about. Parties are something he can have later.

Well a little bit of good news at last! Working Tax credits are paying us the rest of the years money (what we would of been paid if he was working) in one go! It will tide us over this month and our rent will be paid! :cheer: Can't say how releived I am! Won't get anymore this year, and if he gets a higher paid job we'll have to pay it back, but they'll take it out of my child tax credits i'm sure so i'll worry about that later.
OH keeps making me fill in his proof of job search form for JSA, how easy is it  I swear anyone could fake this and stay on the doll for ages :? He has applied for a few more jobs on jobsites so fingers crossed  He is driving me mad being at home getting in my way!!

i know what you mean hun about them being off and driving you mad  My OH has been off since the 9th of october and starts a new job tomoz a really easy job and the hours and pay are pretty cool too. He will be a CCTV responce controller gets his own car to drive around in and will patrol sites ect and the hours are from 4pm till midnight so he gets all day with the kids and by the time i get kids tea done bathed and into bed it wont be long till hes home again and we still get to go to bed together

and its fortnightkly pay wich is even better

hope mark gets something good soon too
has he tried looking on the jobcentre plus website thats wher my OH got this job from and was offerd the job there and then :D

good luck hun
xxxxxxx

Yeah he has looked on there but there is nothing at the moment in our area, not with what he wants to do, and he doesn't want to risk getting a job in somehthing he hates and leaving the career he already has. I know it would mean more money if he did get any job but if he left that job to try and find a new one it will be hoo-har all over again. If that all makes sense??

it makes alot of sence hun.
what sort of thing does he doe sorry for being so nosey
My OH has been doing all sorts but our problems started when he went self employed as a driving instructor but hes always been a delivery driver before that, then went into valeting and then delivering again now this cctv job. He seems quite keen on this job as its not as if hes sat on a site hes out ion a car driving wich he loves and any alarms goes off he goes to check it out and if anyones their he just rings the police a bit of a stitch for the police i guess

Hopefully something good will come up for your hubby pretty fast

He is a Marketing Manager, so he does adverts, stationery, anything to do with pictures and advertising within a company really. The job role can vary between companies as it's a wide spectrum, it has alot to do with everything within a company. (says OH who just explained to me, in my eyes he just plays with pictures all day   )

Sounds like a nice easy job for you OH hun. I've going self-employed as a driving instructor can be very risky business financially, I would be too scared to be self-employed! I hope the new job goes well for him babe
