Ok ive decided after my thread in tri3 to go with re- usables now i need some help to decide which brand is the best :D :cheer:

there are so many out there and im stuck with deciding  its a hell of a lot of money to fork out and could be a costly mistake if i dont get it right
so any help would be greatly appreciate
:D

Also what worked best all in ones one, shaped sized, or pocket style?
I will make it a poll but if you could also help me out with why you chose it that would be wonderful

*****
so ease of us star rating1 -5

speed of drying star rating 1-5

good fit (ie fit on newborns to toddler) star rating 1-5

absorbancy star rating 1-5

cost effect star rating 1-5

cute factor rating 1-5

sorry for all the questions  i just want to get the best ones

thank you in advance for any help you can give me

for newborn i like totsbots fluffle (thats what harriet wore in that pic on other thread)

for general meos but with nature babies wraps.

and if im feeling like spending silly money i visit www.weenotions.co.uk!!! be warned you will want to buy lots from here haha

I do tend to use shaped in the day but pockets at night. However what I have found suited Seren hasn't always suited Cally. The types are mainly individual preference. I have tried nearly all the different types out there and like them all for different reasons. Have you asked at your council if they do trial packs you can borrow?

Roughly absorbancy rating is down to the material - so it would tend to go microfibre - cotton terry - hemp - bamboo with bamboo being the most absorbant. However you have to bear in mind the more absorbant the longer it takes to dry.

I use Mothercare Smart Nappies, and the main reason for this is they are much less bulky than other cloth nappies i have seen especially on tiny babies. They are very absorbant , and i have yet to get a leak. They are resonably priced too.

I'm the same :D

Tots Bots Bamboozles for daytime and various pocket nappies at night, but I've only been doing this since Evie was around 11months when the bamboozles weren't enough to keep her dry all night.
I have got on with the bamboozles really well, their only downside would be drying time - fine in the summer when they can hang outside, harder in the winter (but I have the bonus of a rayburn :D )
With the pocket nappies they come apart so much quicker for drying.

Personally I would say go for nappies that come in two sizes (rather than birth to potty) as they aren't so bulky on your cute little newborn :D

I only use pockets now as find them easier.

These are my fave http://www.bumgenius.com/one-size.php

and also love these http://www.babykind.co.uk/blueberrypocket.htm

expensive i know but wash really well and dry bum even tho nappy insert is soaked.

Must agree with paradysso too weenotions are fab, here are my 2 latest ones

Thanks ladies for the advice 8)
yes its up to me to make the decison in the end
sorry for this moan forgive me:oops:
but im being a right pain in the arse and i hope you dont get frustrated with me for still being undecided

my main issue is of course money i cant help it money worries me :(
getting bits and pieces ie totbots for night bambozle for the day thats incredable costly
also buying the 2 differents sized packs is very very expensive
i cant afford that :(
i can just about get the full birth to potty kit but to buy the size ones and size two seprate packs costs double the money that's over £400    most one size sets ive found researching cost the same as a birth to potty set that's bloody day light robbery :x
i will not have to avalable cash later on the buy the next size up as i'll be a SATHM

im all for the cute wraps but money wise cant go there have to keep it basic simple and cost effective

your right about the birth to potty and fitting ive researched them and they do say bulky on newborns tight on toddlers :(

but the better fittiing reanges ie Totbots costs a huge amount extra
i know in the long run thay will be cost effective but the initial cost of theses reusables is going to clean me out money wise :wall:

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :wall:

Tired to get in contact with the council still waiting for them to get back to me  will try them agian
i know i should trial a few types but at £10 for one nappy thats alot of money to test out a couple of different brands and how is one nappy an effective trial ??

sorry everyone i am being a pain i see you have all got it sorted but i havnt cant get past the huge cost of it all in one go i have to make sure im doing all i can to get the best ones

im going to go away now and have a bit of a scream to clear my head :x :rotfl:

Keep an eye on ebay, you do get some good deals where people have bought with the intention of using and not got on with them for whatever reason. Normally they've only used one or two out a pack.

Bought my pack of size 2's on there for two thirds of RRP and they'd never been used :D

Also check with your local council because alot give money back if you use reusables - we provided ours with the receipt for the newborn pack and got £30 back! :cheer:

I have Little Lamb ones and I love them

I got the mircofibre ones as I don't have a garden and they are dry when they come out the washing machine

get a bumgenius and you won't look back - like disposables only easier - and not bulky at all - they come with a newborn insert and Baby smile went into them when he hit 7lbs with no problems so far....

As i said the Mothercare Smartnappies are very resonable you can get a starter pack for £40.

Babykind have a bargains page as well as their special offers so you might be able to pick up a bargain there. Remember that you could sell them afterwards.
