I feel like I'm forum flooding with all the posts I'm making, sorry!!

I know cats and dogs are dodgy poo-wise, but what about my bunnies?? I have a pair of 'fixed' bunnies (one of each sex), and of course, they have to be cleaned out regularly. I have had buns for 5 years or so, with no breaks, and the current ones are 5 and 3 years old (don't know if it all makes a difference??)

Am I OK to poop scoop them, or is Paul getting a delightful new job?!

I would say rabbits are ok, I have 2 chinchillas and cleaned them out all the way through my pregnancy, poo wise they are about the same as rabbits. Just make sure you give your hands a good scrub after :D

I thought this was going to be a naughty question when I read the post titile! lol

I thought it was just cats and sheep you have to be careful around? I have 6 dogs and 2 cats and I was only being careful around the cats. And I have a 3 legged rabbit too! Oh and a ferret, and a parrot, and a couple of pet ponies. Not to forget the ducks and the cockatiels. :rotfl: lol. So I am really hoping the majority of animals are safe!

Piglet xx

I should imagine pet rabbits are ok as long as you dont let them run around in the garden to dig or anything.

hey hun, i have a lionhead indoor bunny, and ive had no problems
saffs xxxxxx

*nods* will be fine. as said, make sure you wash yours hands thoroughly(sp)

if yor esecially worried, wear gloves :)

Hi..... i have chinchillas and rabbits...I have been trying to find out this question myself as i have 10 baby bunnies to look out for. so i rang the vets and they informed me that i have no worries with them at all...... which i was delighted about as they are my baies aswell...love them and the kids..........mum of 8 soon to be more.....

spoke to my brother....bio chemist with lots of knowledge in the embro department...and he said as long as you wear gloves when cleaning then no problem... apperently bacteria in any form is the problem and as long as we are careful we are not at risk from our pets or gardening.....So glove up ladies :cheer: Lv Yvonne xx
