Ok, if i went for my scan at 20 weeks 0 days and they said the baby measured 19+1 does that mean you change your DD? because when my midwife was talking about it she said we dont change your dates it just means baby is a little smaller on the average (which my dd was too) so she is still saying my DD is 19th Dec... but if the scan was correct that means im due on XMAS DAY  what would you still go with the 19th right??

When I had my scan at 21 weeks, I was told the baby was measuring 22. I asked if they would change the dates, or whther it meant it was a big baby and she said no to the dates, and it is too early to say if it will be a big baby. I think as long as it is roughly the expected parameters they will leave it as after 12 weeks, babies do grow at differing rates.

When I went for my 12 week scan I thought I was 12+1, but was actually 12+4, and they put the EDD of 22nd Jan on the scan report, so I have always gone with that date, and my ticker is worked out from this date also.

At my 21 week scan yesterday I was informed the dates are still the same - so EDD is still 22nd Jan, if it had been different I would have changed my EDD based on the information they gave me......looks like you might get a wonderful Xmas pressie!! :D

apparently hun they go by your 12 week scan as this is the most accurate for dating baby they do not change it after that xxxxxxxx

Ditto what Rachel has said. Upto 12 weeks or so babies all pretty much grow at the same rate so the 12 week dating scan is the most accurate for giving you a DD. From there babies grow at all different rates so it could mean your baby is a slow or fast grower if your measuring above or below your dates but your DD probably wouldn't be changed.

since 24 weeks I've been measuring at least 2 weeks bigger than I should be and I won't be sent for a growth scan until I'm 36 weeks to check exactly how big the baby is

my mw told me they only change dates if they are out by a week or more

in Canada though, you only get a 20 weeks scan not a 12... iv only had one so far

here we get told to go by the 12 week scan unless the dates are less than 5 days different. at my 20 week scan which i had at 19+4 everything mainly was measuring at 20 weeks and 2 days apart from one measurement which was measuring at 19 weeks

At my dating scan I thought I was 13+2 but they put me at 13+6 so I had to move my EDD forward. When I went for my 20 week scan, they based the measurements on my dating scan EDD and didn't need to change it again x

The 20 week scan isn't the one they use for dating. Its more accurate for dating and due date at the 12 week one so I'd stick with your due date.

Also worth remembering that only about 5% of babies iirc arrive on their due date :D

Ohhh... thats so true! i know my little one didnt want to move any time soon on her DD!
