Does anybody know of any decent ones that are Vista compatable. Im only really after "Word and "Excel".

OH has got OpenOffice which claims to be Vista com. but isnt :shakehead:

Did you get a copy of Microsoft works with your pc? I think that has a word processing and spreadsheet program.

OpenOffice is good (I use it on my OS) but maybe they haven't got around to the new Vista set up yet. Its open source so you don't pay for it, and Vista is somewhat crap (still?) so it may take them a while.

I did find some stuff on OpenOffice for Vista and it seems it does run on it, but its a bit buggy (not sure if thats Windows or OpenOffice fault) Guess you could search online and see if there is a download of it somewhere.

Or find a cracked version of the MS software you want. They are out there, but I can't tell you where to look.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hippychick- My laptop was a real cheapy so didnt come with MS Office

Sherlock- I tried to install OpenOffice but my computer wasnt having any of it. I did a search and found StarOffice 8 which is identical to OO but actually installs on my computer :D

Thanks for your replies

Id suggest getting Excel Viewer and Word Viewer (free downloads) and checking anything you do on those as sometimes the format doesnt translate well. I use OpenOffice but have the free viewers aswell just to check formatting etc :)
