Puss on throat & very sore

I have been feeling really crappy since Saturday. I've had a really annoying cough, worse when I lay down at night, making my chest really sore. The last couple of days I've also had a sore throat, today its so sore. Had a look in the mirror and I've had my tonsils out (used to get recurring tonsillitis as a teenager) but where my tonsils should be there is white puss spots, the same as when I used to get tonsillitis. I can't get into the Dr today but have bought some day nurse and throat spray. What could this be?

Someone I know had glandular fever with similar symptoms ? Not to say that's what it is but could be? Hope u feel better x
