What do you ladies think about eating this?

I had a look on the NHS Choices website and it says

Some countries advise pregnant women not to eat cold meats or smoked fish because of the risk that the food may contain listeria bacteria. In the UK, pregnant women are not advised to avoid these foods because the risk of infection is so low. However, if you’re concerned, you may choose to avoid them.

It's only a wee bit on bruschetta but wanted to check!

Thanks xx

I cook mine or if I'm in a restaurant and it's on pizza or something I get them to cook it

Thanks hun. I just had a wee wee bit. Think normal ham etc totally fine :) xxx

I think when they mean cold meat, they mean cured meat. Meat that hasn't been cooked, but cured instead. Ham is fine. Personally, I think it would be ok to eat prosciutto as long as you got it from a good source and not some dodgy street market stall. :) x

This may sound bad but i think most of what they say is a bit ott- i suppose they have to be but i was eating seafood, nuts, egg's raw steak before my 9 week midwifes appointment because i didn't know and LO is fine, my view was if it was so important they would see pregnant women sooner to warn them xx
