"Probable" incompetent cervix?

Hi Everyone,

I went to the doctor today. She told me that as I am 7wks6days pregnant, I won't hear from the midwife for around another 5 weeks.

I mentioned to my doctor that I have had minor surgery in the past for abnormal cells on my cervix, as well as numerous punch biopsies, on top of cervical erosion. I read in the book that I bought that I could be a prime candidate for the "stitch".

She said that she would refer me to the consultant for advice.

I know that women don't tend to find out they have an incompetent cervix until they've miscarried but I don't want it to get to that stage because it is a miracle I am pregnant in the first place and it might not happen again. If I am classed as a risk, do I have the right to insist on having my cervix stitched?

Does anyone have any ideas? I am confused and a bit worried.

i think you have a right to ask anything you want to your midwife or doctor then they can inform you of the best way forward from then on good luck fruityloop hope all goes well xx
