Pregnancy just after period?

Hello to everyone,

I had fully unprotected sex with my bf the 8th day of my period (my period ended at 6th day) and he came inside me as we thought that you can not get pregnant so early in the period. But 4 days after I had clean 'eggish' discharge CM (Cervix mucus) which means that I had ovulated. I know that I ovulated because the day after the CM changed to more sticky and cloudy which means-according to doctors- that ovulation has passed.Is there a chance I got pregnant?

well i concieved on day 7 on my cycle, i ovulated on day 15 so i dont see why not

It is strange isn't it? what did the doctor say? were you certain that you ovulated on day 15?

what did your doctor say when you found out that you were pregant? Did you tell him that your ovulation was much later than the day of contact?

well i thought i was 7 weeks last week, then had to go for an emergency scan and they put me back to 6 weeks and i worked it out when we conceievd. we made baby the first attempt after id stopped bleeding. doc says you can get preg any time of cycle, even during period yuk!

well im not sre but they go on the size of the baby to give you the conception date so in theory its right

yes you are right. Do you knpow the sex of you baby? they say that if you ovulate after contact , most chances are that it's a girl...maybe its a myth but i don't know..

Hi,

Just to set the record straight, you can only concieve when you ovulate but this is like a moving target and some women do ovulate as early as day 7. Because sperm can stay alive in the right conditions for up to 5 days it is possible to concieve if you ovulate 5 days after you had sex. So it is not exactly true that you can conceive at any time in the cycle, but if you have lots of eggwhite cm for a few days before you ovulate the sperm can survive in it.

Also on cervical fluid. Egg white consistency means you are just about to ovulate and it will disappear as soon as you have. If you didn't get egg white cm until 4 days after you had sex you can safely assume you cannot be pregant. Sperm cannot survive or even swim in any other type of cervical fluid.

We had sex on day 8 of my cycle, next mrning i had a pink spot when I went to teh bathroom. 4 days after (12 day) i had CM in eggish clear form and then next day the mucus became more sticky and white as a boiled egg (i don't know how else to describe it).
Do you think there is a chance?

Hey Hon,

I don't think the pink spot is significant., this can happen occasionaly after sex and doesn't mean anything. If you did not have eggwhite cm on the day you had sex then the sperm could not have survived. It sounds like you became fertile 4 days after you had sex as this is when you got the eggwhite cm. If you then had creamy cm as you describe you would be correct in assuming you may have ovulated on day 12 or that evening. If you are sure you did not have eggwhite cm on the day you had sex then you are definetly not pregnant. It is impossible for sperm to swim in dry or non eggwhite cm conditions.

Please note the only way to be sure you ovulated is if you have been taking your temps and have had a shift from low to high temps. It is possible to have more than one batch of eggwhite cm in one cycle.

You are right. I have noticed as well that in my last cycle, I had 'two rounds' of cm eggwhite, i found it strange, i wonder why this happens. i am probably (99%) not pregnant so I should stop freaking out without a reason. Even if there is a chance of 1% , I will not be unhappy , in the opposite i will be happy, so in any case , there is no reason for worries....
