Just calamine lotion really hun and give him nice cool baths and keep him in loose cotton clothes so it doesnt irritate his spots.
If you can keep his nappy off as long a you can it will help the spots in his groinal area as they are the worst ones to get and he will possbly get lots more down there as the spots thrivein warm dark areas.
hope they clear up soon. In about 10 days they should start to dry out and he wont contaminte anyone
Poor little man sounds lie hes having a aright rough time
When mine had it I used to bath them with bicarbonate soda in the bath then cover then in calamine cream instead of lotion. I found it worked much better. Aimee used to go and get the tub and sit on my knee for me to put more on so it must of felt nice. Hope hes feeling better soon Also coal tar soaps ment to work but can't remember why. All mine got it at the same time so I was desperate, lol.
Thanks ladies I don't think he's feeling too bad in himself but he's pretty itchy & keeps scratching the spots on his neck. My mum gave me some Piriton which is supposed to help & I've got some calamine lotion (they didn't have the cream at the chemists) which seems to help a bit although he doesn't like me putting it on!
I'd prefer he has chicken pox now than when he's older, I just hope he sleeps better tonight, I'm knackered!
I'm not sure how old they have to be but it might be worth asking the pharmacist about anti histimine such as piriton, should help him get a little rest, poor sausage Hope he gets better soon
