post natal thyroid problems?

I've just got thyroid problems
Has your TSH come back high or something? X

They tested for it yesterday, I will get my results Monday!

Ive been feeling absolutely exhausted, not just tired, I feel weak and unable to find the energy to do anything. My heart rate sometimes goes up to 90-100 when I'm just laid down doing nothing.

They tested my iron levels and they were normal, I really hope it is this thyroid thing because I want an answer as to why I feel like this :(

It's not because of my LO, he sleeps right through so I get plenty of sleep but I can still be so exhausted, it's strange!

Have you had any of these symptoms? Is yours due to pregnanxy xxx

Tachycardia isnt a symptom of underactive thyroid
Overactive yes but not underactive
But the tiredness is from underactive
You wouldnt have both symptoms as theyre for the opposite thyroid problem
Are you on any medication?
How old is your little one? Could just be hormones fluctuating. Tiredness ks normal but can be debilatating. Really no idea about the fast heartrate though it sounds like something else

When you get your results back ask what your TSH came back ask and let me know
It should be below 4 optimally but just depends

Mine isnt pregnancy related
I just have a crap thyroid. Lol x

Thanks hun I'll let you know... Isaac is 2.5 months! No not on any medication, never had any health problems before until I had him. Now I'm a mess, all my joints hurt, I'm contstantly tired but to the point where I actually feel like I'm poorly, im just falling apart :( it's really getting me down xxx

Could just be run down
Do you feel cold a lot? Dry skin? Hair falling out? (prob ignore the last one its a given atm)
Could just be hormones settling and a bit of a bug x

I have hypothyroidism and 6 months after having my eldest i began feeling awful, just as you described. Despite having previous normal thyroid levels after birth i was feeling exhausted, weak and having regular palpitations. Went to gp who dismissed the palpitations as being associated with thyroid problems and insisted on doing ecgs and all sorts. When these came back normal he then told me it was stress !? Got a second opinion and blood tests showed a significant dip in thyroid levels. Once my meds were increased i began to feel human again and palpations stopped. Although palpitations is not typically a hypothyroidism symptom, it is of postpartum thyroiditis. Look it up for more info and go armed to your gp. Good luck, i know exactly how your feeling and it is rotten but you will feel 100% better once meds have been adapted! x

P.s I attend an endocrinologist and in my recent pregnancy, told me palpitations and fast heart rate is a sign of thyroid problems which need addressed immediately (especially in pregnancy). So never dismiss it x

Hi ladies... Bloods showed normal thyroid but raised infection levels so now on antibiotics! Hopefully will feel better soon! Thanks for the replies xxx
