OK. Ruby is exclusively breastfed and up until now, has produced several normal, pooey nappies every day. Anyway, since saturday, I haven't had ANY!! Not even a skid in sight  Is this normal? She seems OK in herself. Is she officially constipated :?

My health visitor told me it was perfectly normal for breastfed babies to sort of even off on the poo front, and just do bigguns every few days. I'm not sure why, but I think it's normal :) If she sounds bunged up or makes sort of squeezing noises (if you know what I mean) you could try some cooled boiled water in a bottle if she'll take one. But otherwise I wouldn't worry - they'll come all at once when you least expect it ;) :D

Cheers Shell.

I'm kind of missing my mini explosions lol :rotfl:

I have had the same 'problem' from the time my DD was 6-7 weeks old - read this! Hope it reassures you!

I remember DD went 6 days without going for a poo once. Then she did it when I was at a postnatal group, with no change of clothes and 2 wetwipes. There was poo EVERYWHERE! Thankfully DH was working from home and drove me down a change of clothes, but I've never lived it down from the the girl who was opposite me (we were all sat around change mats) as she had to give me a million wetwipes to clean her up.

So it's totally normal! As they get older they just absorb most of the breastmilk they're having :)

BF babies poo less as theres less waste. whenever millie hadnt been for a couple days i always used to give cooled boiled water- went straight thru her! lol.
