Pointless but something i never knew...

Well my friend had her baby girl this weekend
As a mother of two boys, i have never changed a baby girl at all, i was told there bits looked inflamed after birth, well i had the shock of my life to how different they actually are.
I was speaking to the midwife at the hospital and she said the swelling was completely normal and dont be alarmed if a baby girl has blood in their nappy. Apparantly the hormones from mother to baby can cause them to have a little bleed from their bits
Am i just completely thick, my friend didnt know this either?

I don't know what I'm having, so perhaps I'll be glad of knowing this information if I have a girl.

Lol same happens with boys as you may know having boys urself , and whilst in my emergency c section my fella shouted out ' wow he has huge balls !!' everyone started laughing cause it was so inappropriate !! I think it was nerves for him lol but the hormones made his bits huge! Of course oh puts it down to his genetics!! Xx

Didn't know that but did know the hormones can make them leak a bit of milk. Never happened with my two though. x

I remember this with my daughter, she got a little bleed but luckily I was told how hormones effect newborns!

I was told this too.. I think everyone should know these things.. Shame they don't tell you! My girls were only swollen a bit no blood or milk
