hey..well i was jhust wondering what i was entitled to fincancially for baby?? im 21 weeks...i have not applied for anything- completely clueless and dont c midwife till 23/11...................... thank you!

im full time employed 37 n half hours a week.............and my partner is full time

You can get a Sure Start Maternity Grant if you or your partner receive any of the following:
  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than the family element
  • Working Tax Credit where a disability or severe disability element is included in the award

I have no idea, I got the information off the directgov website, I'm guessing because both you and your partner work that you aren't really entitled to anything.. but don't quote me are your wages high/low?

mine is respectable esp for my age but my partners is quite minimum,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hmm?

your best off talking to your midwife at your 25 week appointment because that is when you can apply for health in grant mines next week so looking forward to getting that sorted x

if ur working & been there more than 26weeks then its statitory maternity pay thru ur employer.... if uv been working for them less than that then its maternity allowance (same rate of £124.88) per week, just 1 is paid via ur work n maternity allowance is paid thru job centre,

u wil get the £190 health in pregnancy grant forms at 25wks from midwife,

dependant on ur household income ie if u live with partner after babys here u might get working / child tax benefit

n ul get child benefit of £20 per week once babys born....

have a look on there... will give u some ideas,

oh n pension credit is over 60+ income support,

*im not weird with knowin what the benfit thingys are, i apply for them for people who are unalbe to them self, such as adults with learning disabilities etc*

It may be best to wait until the baby is here to try to claim the sure start grant, you will stand more chance of getting it
