Has anyone done or doing this? Is it worth it?
I planned to do this ever night from 30 wks and OH tried it last night & it hurt  I could only stand it for 2 mins. We followed the hospitals instructions but just wondered if it's supposed to hurt that bad? I thought it would be uncomfortable but was shocked how stingy it was, left me a bit more worried about LO coming out if I'm honest.
Would love to know how you all find it.

I'd be interested to know too. We are going to try it in next couple of weeks but I'm scared. I know it's supposed to hurt as it is stretching the area in preparation for baby so im prepared for that but scared too! Im hoping someone on here has done it and can say whether it reduced the risk of tearing, as if not I might not bother! x

I didn't bother and I didn't tear at all -just slight grazing. Xxx

I can hardly reach down there now lol, bump is way too big, so I think ill just leave it! x

I was wondering about this too for ages and wanted to at give it a go coz the throught of tearing or needing to be cut down there is horrible! :( When I found out how to do it properly and even saw a video on youtube showing how to do it I realised theres no chance! The position and angle it shows you to do is impossible with a bump for a start and when I showed the OH, he said no chance too! lol
Then I went to Mothercare and saw a perineal gel in there, was £4.99 and it says all you do is rub a little in twice a day to the area and it will help soften the area. So I bought this and have been using this and literally just rubbing a little in like cream. So although I can't comment on if it's beneficial YET it's far easier to do and I feel like I'm doing something to hopefully prevent a tear. Here's hoping it will help :)

I can't reach myself either that's why OH was doing it & was t sure if he was doing it right as I can't see a lol.
Tried it again last night & it wasn't so bad, still only managed 2 mins & instructions say to build up to 10 eek!
