Panorama on maternity care...

I don't have tv...... But I'll catch it on iPlayer in an hour :) xx

When it's finished... Let me know if it's wise to be watching when I could go into labour any time now!!! He he zz

I dont understand how there is a shortage of midwives! Places for midwifery are like golddust so where are all these qualified midwives?!

Rarrr...Im watching this...but I dont know why...Its making me angry, confused and all emotional.

Its interesting though lol

Heppi I wouldn't watch if I were you. It's upsetting me xx

Ohh now I'm torn! I kinda wanna watch it... But I've had a rather emotional day... I might watch it tomorrow if I'm feeling better :) x

It made me feel very lucky to have had the care I received, so sad for those that didn't :(

Im just watching it now and 10 mins in im crying my eyes out.
How can they let that happen? Im disgusted x x

Horrible that things like that still happen nowadays but its all human errors sadly.

I feel lucky that the midwife spotted a problem when she did but she was so awful it could have been spotted quicker and Im lucky that she spotted it at all.

If standards are so high to get into uni to train to be a midwife, why are all these mistakes being made? Just makes me so angry that things that this are happening.

Totally agree! I couldn't believe that midwife that was suspended couldn't read the fetal monitor readings and failed to spot a baby in distress - that is bloody scary. She shouldnt be able to practice full stop! I wasn't prepared for how sad this was and very upsetting, nonetheless it needs to be shown. Alot of things shown/discussed I did encounter whilst having Grace and I did have a very newly qualified midwife buy actually she was on the ball. She always double checked everything because it was still quite new to her. Luckily my husband was my advocate and made sure my needs were met, he pushed them when needed as he became worried for my health. I am so glad he pushed to get what we needed as I was not in any fit state. At one point in my labour he had to leave the room to cry because he was so concerned about me. Grace was in distress for hours and I am just so lucky she arrived safely :)
