Hi, This is my first post, I have been trying for a baby for nearly 3 years and never had a positive so over xmas we kind of agreed to give up and that it just wasnt to be. Then out of the blue I decided for no reason to take a pregnancy test 2 days ago and I got my first ever positive result, so shocked I cannot take it in that I am actually pregnant! I had it confirmed by the Dr yesterday and we think I am about 4/5 weeks.

My only problem I have now is apart from getting my head round it, I am panicking about every cramp, or feeling, it all feels so precarious like every little thing I do or movement might cause a miscarriage. I am so ecstatic to be pregnant but I feel like so much could go wrong and its ruining my enjoyment. Am I being totally nurotic or is this normal?????

Totally normal to feel like this, just relax and try not to stress, and grats on your BFP !

Congratulations! and yes it is normal to worry about every little cramp/pain we all do... :) xx

congrats :)

like the kelly and rosa have both said, it is normal to be worried, but it is also normal to get some cramps as the muscles start to expand, but if it gets very painful get it checked! hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months xxx

Congratulations, that's fab news!!! Totally normal, I'm stressing about loads too, any little twinge or feeling, I worry if it's normal or not, but I'm just trying to relax and enjoy it. (easier said than done lol)

I am expecting my 3rd baby and I am nearly 5 weeks pregnant. I am worrying about every little niggle and twinge, just as I did with the other two. (which were perfectly healthy). I know it's not easy to not worry but as spice said, if it is very painful get it checked out. I have period like pains at the moment, and hoping it's just muscles expanding etc. It does get much easier and much more enjoyable once you reach that 12 week milestone.
Congratulations on your fantastic news, try and relax, and there are plenty of lovely people on here who are feeling exactly the same way. x x

and its totally normal to be feeling like this. i think we all are here in the first trimester. I check myself for bleeding nealry 20 times a day im so paranoid! you need to remember that what will be will be and as long as your taking care of yourself, nature will do the rest xx

Hi and welcome. As the other girls say its totally normal im the same as you, some days i worry if im even pregnant(even tho ive had 5 positives)

Just try and relax im sure everything will be fine xxx

oh thankyou all, that is such a relief!!! I feel alot less paranoid now I know everyone is the same!! I had no idea what to expect as its all such a shock, first day I didnt even dare move incase I dislodged something!! going to the loo was a nightmare, and I've been checking for bleeding like an obsessive! Today I definately feel a lot calmer and relaxed, still getting the odd mild period cramp but now I know its just my muscles expanding its not so worrying. Its great to know you guys are all here its definately going to be a journey!!! congrats to you all xxxxx

Hehe, I was exactly the same, constantly worried it was going to just fall out or something equally ridiculous and noticed every litlte twinge. You relax as time goes by though (slowly) so just try to enjoy your BFP!

Thanks Cantstop, I think I am finally starting to relax a bit now and enjoy it all, although I still darent jiggle about too much lol!!!
