Hi ladies...

I hoped you can shed some light....

All day I have had a sort of niggly feeling on my right side. It comes and goes and only lasts a second..It feels as though maybe an elbow or something is digging into me. But for the past half an hour I have had what I can only describe as really bad period like pains on one side. There going right through my back to my front and actually had me doubled over. They seem to have passed now but it got me a bit worried.

These are the first pains I have really experienced.

Any idea what it is? I feel okay now... and am due to go out tonight but am worried incase it comes back.

Thanks in advance... xxx

I had the midwife out last week about pains and she said that they were just ligament pains and that sometimes you can be doubled over with them they can get that bad so it may be just that. If you are very worried about it then i would probably stay in tonight and rest and if they come back call the midwife.

I would suggest staying in with your feet up  if they persist though I would call the mw, as flame said they are probably nothing to worry about but it would put your mind at rest!

I've been getting these pains for a few weeks now but today I have had an almost constant pain in my right side and need to go to wee about every 1/2 hour. telephoned my Doctor and he said that as it dosnt hurt to go to toilet and I do not have a fever then it is probably not a urinary infection but is probably ligament pains and NOT TO WORRY it is normal, but to drink plenty of water, if I still have the constant pain on Monday to recontact him.

So basically DONT WORRY, (easier said then done eh), I have spent hours looking through my pregnancy books and mags and looking things up on the internet and they all say the same thing, contact your Doctor and NOT TO WORRY.

Try and get an early nite  and you may find a hot water bottle helps.

Hi,

I had these type pains too for a few days a while back and the Midwife says they are ligaments stretching and listened to the baby's heartbeat just to put my mind at rest. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about

Like the others have said you need to put your feet up. I'm using pregnancy as a reason to put my feet up quite a lot recently!!! But we may not have much chance once our little ones are here!!!

well I had an early night and I put a cushion between my legs and slept on my side and it definatly eased the pain, when finally got up this morning the pain has nearly gone (thank god) so hopefully it was just 'growing pains'

Thanks for the advice last night!

I ended up just chilling out on the sofa and watching tv. Thankfully the pains didnt come back. I wonder if it was maybe braxton hicks?? When do they start?..and what do they feel like? As I said it was like really bad period pain and cramps which which would get a bit worse for a few second then subside slightly. It lasted about 20-30 mins. It was scary! Those pains reallymade me think about the reality of labour

:cheer: I'm so glad you are feeling better, sometimes a night on the settee is all that is needed!!

yeh i've had this to.. it feels like my ovulation pains i used to get
and there to come and go and then come back for ages!!

Hi

Sounds like growing pains to me , think they go through a growth spurt right about now, not certain though?
